Undertake a “listening campaign” to gather the research of their outreach coordinators on six different transit issues and a broad range of policy questions

Outcome

A well-grounded policy platform on fair transit rates which were then presented to the metropolitan transit authority

The Metro Vancouver Alliance is a broad based coalition of more than 60 community groups, labour, faith and educational institutions working together for the common good. Together, they represent more than 300,000 people in the British Columbia lower mainland. In the fall of 2016, Translink, the metropolitan transit authority, undertook a review of their fare structure. MVA undertook a “listening campaign” and used Ethelo to gather the research of their outreach coordinators on six different transit issues and a broad range of policy questions. The results were used to develop MVA’s policy platform which was then presented to the Translink.
