Ethelo API Integration: Future Insights on Solana

Future, a decentralized organization on the Solana blockchain, used Ethelo’s API to build their “Insights” application for blockchain governance. The API integrates Ethelo’s decision engine with their own member database and frontend, allowing Future to analyze anonymized vote data. Their product entered Colosseum’s Radar Hackathon.

Future is a decentralized organization on the Solana blockchain dedicated to improving the blockchain governance process. Future built their ‘Insights’ application using the first private release of the Ethelo API.

BUILDING ON THE WORLD'S LEADING DECISION ENGINE

The Future team wanted to take advantage of Ethelo’s high-power decision engine, but build their own front-end tools and participant onboarding system. They partnered with Ethelo who gave Future developers access to the Ethelo engine API. The Ethelo engine takes inputs in the form of options, issues, criteria, constraints and other decision-related parameters, along with participant feedback on a variety of associated metrics.

Future built their own front-end user interface and configuration system. That interface allows an administrator to set up a project using a simplified subset of parameters including issues, options and criteria. At this stage, it does not access the more advanced scenario analysis functionality of Ethelo.

Future used their own database system to manage their participants and wallet sign=ons. The Future system collects vote information from participants, parses it, and sends that anonymized vote data to the Ethelo API. The Ethelo engine analyzes the information, generates the results and returns it through the same API to Future – all in near real-time.

Solana is a fast and efficient blockchain network that helps run apps and digital money systems without needing a central authority. It was created to handle a lot of transactions quickly and at low cost compared to other systems like Bitcoin and Ethereum. Solana’s security, reliability and energy efficiency makes it popular for building new types of online tools, including finance apps, digital art marketplaces, and systems for group decision-making.

THE ETHELO APPLICATION PROGRAMMING INTERFACE

This first release of the Ethelo API enables partners such as Future, but also other distributed third party applications, to integrate Ethelo decision-making into their own platform environment. The Ethelo API enables external applications to maintain control over their member information and login protocols – a key component when integrating with existing ecosystems such as Solana.

The Ethelo API will also allow the exporting and importing of data into Ethelo. That information can be used for raw engine analysis, or for the quick configuration of a growing library of Ethelo templates and wizards such as granting or budgeting.

Using the Ethelo API, partners will be able to access a growing library of open source SDK (software development kit) containing widgets and tools which they can integrate into their platforms and protocols. These SDK will allow the smooth integration of varying degrees of Ethelo functionality into third party applications such as blockchain protocols like Solana but also election systems.
